The 4th of August 2011, Gunnar Hrafn Hrafnbjargarson died in a accident. Gunnar Hrafn was not only a splendid scientist, a helpful colleague and a cherished member of the ScanDiaSyn network (and later on also N'CLAV), he was also one of the most caring and thoughtful people I have made friends with during my professional life. All who knew Gunnar will miss him immensely and, when sorrow has faded, remember him with great gratitude.
